Program 01 · Food & Nutrition
The International Free Lunch Program provides nutritious school meals so children in low-income communities can attend class healthy, focused and ready to learn.

Since 2019, the program has reached more than 20,000 children across Uganda and other African countries. In Uganda, TPL has provided food to more than 6,000 students and teachers in over 20 schools.
The program supports schools in low-income and informal-settlement communities with daily nutritious meals.
How it works
A transparent process connects community need, local procurement and partner support.
Schools and beneficiaries are assessed with local partners to ensure support reaches children facing the greatest barriers.
Budgets, menus, suppliers and delivery schedules are agreed with clear roles and safeguards.
Orders, participation and monthly implementation are documented for responsible program management.
Meals do more than ease hunger. They help children return to school, stay in class and protect their health.
Schools report stronger attendance and enrolment after regular meals are introduced. Local food purchasing and preparation can also create employment for women and strengthen community supply chains.
“Children no longer come to class hungry. They look forward to school every day.” — Program school teacher, 2025
